An Asian American homecoming queen and her friends, all born with genetic conditions, struggle to fulfill their dreams in a world that refuses to accept them for who they are. Directed and filmed by a crew of filmmakers with disabilities and those who identify as LBGTQ+ and BIPOC, "Queen Moorea" inspires us to embrace life's challenges.

500,000 babies a year are born with a rare genetic condition.

Queen Moorea is a documentary filmed over six years about young adults with genetic syndromes who fight for a place in society.

Moorea undergoes three operations before her first birthday.
She grows into a girl filled with kindness and love of life.

At high school, Moorea works hard to appear “normal.”
She is surprised to be crowned Homecoming Queen.

In the adult world, Moorea strives for independence, true love and a job. She dreams of being a cardiologist, but has to enter vocational school.
